Peanut Butter Protein Flapjack Recipe

Getting a quick, easy protein hit at any time of the day is perfect for anyone that’s exercising regularly and looking to recover properly from their workouts. Whey protein has become the go-to source for a quick hit, and it’s increasingly being used in food as well as the more common protein shake.

This simple home-made peanut butter protein flapjack recipe is incredibly easy to make, contains a ton of protein, healthy fats and carbs and is the ideal post-workout snack. It’s pretty good at keeping you full throughout the day and is even perfect when you fancy something sweet to eat!

To make them you’ll need:

  • 8 Scoops (200g) chocolate whey powder
  • 200g natural peanut butter
  • 100g rough oatmeal
  • Boiling water

Add the protein, chocolate powder, peanut butter and oats to big mixing bowl. Add a small amount of the boiling water to the bowl and begin mixing the ingredients together. Gradually add more small amounts of water and continue mixing until all the powdery ingredients have combined into a sticky, chocolatey blob. It should still be pretty tough to mix the ingredients, if it’s too runny you’ve added too much water and will need to add more oats.

From here, transfer the mixture to a square casserole dish lined with greaseproof paper and flatten it out. Simply place the mixture in the fridge and leave it a couple of hours until the mixture firms up. Cut in to 9 square pieces for 25g of protein and ~260 calories per slice.
